Heidi Stewart, landscape architect

Heidi Stewart is the Director of Meadow Landscape Architecture based in Nelson. She has 8 years experience as a landscape architect in which time she has been involved in a number of large and small-scale projects within the public and private realm.

She holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Hons) from Lincoln University, Canterbury including a year studying Landscape Architecture at Guelph University in Toronto, Canada.

After graduating Heidi established her own practise in Nelson working on high quality commercial and residential developments. Heidi then spent two years in Italy and returned to Wellington to work with Boffa Miskell Ltd, one of New Zealand’s leading landscape design and planning companies. During Heidi’s time there she worked on a range of large-scale projects. These included large-scale urban design projects, subdivision design, streetscape design projects, parks and reserve developments, and a range of commercial and residential developments. She was with Boffa Miskell LTD for 3 years before returning to Nelson to establish Meadow Landscape Architecture.

Whilst working as the director of Meadow Landscape Architecture Heidi has been involved in a number of exciting projects and was award winning in the commercial/Industrial/Institutional category of 2010 New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects Awards for the landscape design of a local medical centre.

Heidi’s strong design skills have also lead to several short listed placings in a variety of design competitions. Her strengths are a good understanding of client needs and requirements, inclusive consultation, creative conceptual design, high quality graphic presentation skills and the ability to manage a project through to completion. She enjoys working in a collaborative team and has experience at a range of scales from broad scale master planning to conceptual and detailed design.
